Access
Control includes whole of site security using electrical, audio and
video systems to facilitate access to and from premises or restricted areas.
Electrical devices fitted to doors, gates and barriers may be operated using
a variety of methods including keypad, proximity card, key-fob, swipe card,
or biometric reader using fingerprint or retinal scanner, etc. Systems may
be stand alone (single entrance) or integrated (linked together), and with
or without a central control. Audio and video systems permit remote monitoring
control.
Central Control Stations allow for the
electronic monitoring, control and restriction of multi-functional systems.
Integrated systems or central control operators are used to enable or to
limit the use of multiple access points.
Time and Attendance recording of events,
when achieved, ensures the availability of historic data such as date,
time, access granted or denied, access point or area, personnel identity,
etc.
